Long Island Fight for Charity
Matt has been involved since the beginning. In fact, the original art work for the charity has a caricature of Matt on it.
Matt Silver is not only dedicated to his customers and to operating a successful business. He is also very active in his community and with many local charities. Matt has received the prestigious National Volunteer Service Award from the Arthritis Foundation, and he was awarded the Unsung Hero from the Foundation for Fighting Blindness. Matt has raised thousands of dollars for various charities and is co-founder of the Long Island Community Chest. In 2003 through this 2008 Matt has participated in the Long Island Fight For Charity. These events have raised in excess of $300,000 for more than a dozen local not-for-profit organizations. More than one thousand business people attended each of these events. The Fight For Charity is now one of Long Island’s largest and most anticipated annual charity events.
Matt serves on the board of several organizations including From Our Hearts Foundation, Rides Unlimited which is part of Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, an organization that provides services to physically and mentally challenged individuals, New Ground an organization which supports Homeless Families across Long Island, and he is a member of the Executive Board of the Arthritis Foundation.
In addition, Matt is an active member of the Nassau County Police Reserves and the Police Reserves of Suffolk County Matt is also an active supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Education Assistance Corporation. In 2005 he received EAC’s Humanitarian award.
Matt believes it is important to be involved in his business sector, and is a board member in the Nassau Suffolk Limo Association. He takes an active role in a number of business organizations, including Advancement for Commerce Industry and Technology and the Bethpage Chamber of Commerce.
